Designing A High-Quality Logo for Local Band

Overview

Beep-Bop is a local St. John's jazz band with a unique twist: they bring beloved '90s TV themes to life with their renditions. To stand out in a competitive live music scene, they needed a high-quality logo that captured their playful yet sophisticated essence, helping them build brand recognition and draw bigger audiences to their shows.

Our Approach

To achieve their goals, we developed a strategic design process focused on capturing the spirit of Beep-Bop:

1. Discovery and Research

   • Collaborated with the band to understand their music style, audience, and creative vision.

   • Conducted research on '90s design trends and jazz iconography to identify elements that could create a visually compelling brand identity.

   • Sketched initial logo concepts blending retro '90s motifs with modern typography and jazz-inspired shapes.

   • Experimented with bold colour palettes reminiscent of classic TV intros while ensuring flexibility for black-and-white applications.

3. Refinement and Finalization

   • Worked iteratively with the band to refine the chosen design, ensuring it met their expectations and aligned with their brand.
